Crowne Plaza New Delhi Okhla is hosting the 13thedition of the hotel’s signature food festival ‘Dilli 6’. Tracing its roots back to the first season in 2011, the festival has been themed as ‘Bazaar-E-Purani’ – anode to the iconic marketplaces of Chandni Chowk which have stood through times, generations and dynasties. Staying true to the tradition, the kitchen team has roped in street food ‘khansamas’ from the by-lanes of Dilli 6 to curate a unique dining experience- Chandni Chowk Ki Galiya!
Getting absolutely spoiled for choice, visitors can embark on a culinary journey with trademark ‘ParantheWaliGali’ along with LIVE Biryani, Kebabs, Kulfis Jalebis & Chaat counters buzzing with action for a street style experience. The menu boasts of cyclic dishes with more than 100 options such as Dahi Bhalla, Golguppe, Aloo Chaat, Fruit Kulia Chaat, Matra Kulcha, Chole Bhature& more. For the main course, wow your taste buds with Mutton Nihari, Chicken Changezi, Murgh Begum Bahar, Kofta Sham Savera, and Dal Dilruba paired with Roomali rotis, Rogani naans, Doodhwali roti and dry fruit Sheermal. Keep some space for savouring some soul-satisfying desserts such as Daulat Ki Chaat, Palang tod Barfi, Habshi Halwa, RabdiFaluda, Sunhari Paita Halwa, Phirni, Shahi Tukda& more.
The man behind the show, Chef Ashutosh Bisht, Executive Sous Chef, humble accommodates the ‘khansamas’ from old Delhi into his kitchen. “Our chefs have collaborated with local khansamas to capture the secrets behind the aromatic delicacies which are deeply rooted in Chandni Chowk’s culture. Our food menu celebrates the street food hawkers of the old city in an extremely hygienic set-up,” he shares.
According to Shuvendu Banerjee, General Manager, “Dill 6 food festival is the heart of of Crowne Plaza New Delhi Okhla. This year, we are taking a nostalgic trip back the first edition of the food festival where we showcased the cultural and culinary glory of markets of Purani Dilli. It has always been our endeavour to celebrate the regional cuisines along with immersive dining experiences for a true gastronomic indulgence.”
Some of the must-try delicacies includes ‘Kulche-Mutter’, ‘Raj Kachori’, ‘Fruit Kulia’, ‘Aloo Tikki’, delicacies from Daulat ki Chat, savouries from ParathewaliGali, Qureshi K Gurde, Kapoore, Bheja and Keema Kaleji. In the main course, the delectable thali, with mutton korma, biryani, fish, chicken changeezi, kadi pakoda, shahi paneer, dal dilruba and so many more options in sweet with ‘Makhan-malai’ winning the race will simply leave you hoping for an extra set of the stomach to tuck it all in!
