Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Jhelum River and surrounded by saffron fields and Mughal gardens, the series pays homage to Kashmir’s royal kitchens and age-old recipes. Known for its signature Wazwan feast—a multi-course extravaganza historically reserved for nobility—the property is inviting guests to indulge in the essence of Kashmiri culture through food.
At the heart of this celebration is Firdaus, the hotel’s signature restaurant. True to its name, meaning ‘paradise’ in Persian, Firdaus offers a regal dining experience. Guests can relish classic dishes such as Rogan Josh, Yakhni, Gushtaba, and Kahwa, all served with handcrafted Kashmiri tableware and traditional music enhancing the ambiance.
Curated by acclaimed Chef Rakesh Sethi, known for his prestigious culinary journey including meals for Indian Presidents, this edition features two standout dishes—Al Hach Te Koker (chicken with sun-dried bottle gourd) and Shufta (a dessert of dried fruits, honey, and saffron). Chef Sethi’s creations celebrate local ingredients and the timeless techniques passed down through generations.
“These two signature dishes will be featured on the à la carte menu at Firdaus and occasionally appear on the buffet at our all-day dining restaurant, Sapphire,” shared Chef Sethi. “Inspired by the winter treasures found in Srinagar’s spice markets, the use of sun-dried vegetables reflects Kashmir’s enduring culinary resilience.”
Beyond its culinary excellence, Radisson Collection Hotel & Spa, Riverfront Srinagar offers a luxurious haven of comfort. From well-appointed rooms with river and mountain views to the riverside café, spa therapies like the Shah Taar herbal massage, and access to iconic city attractions, the hotel promises an unforgettable stay.
The Taste of Heritage series has previously been hosted in gastronomic capitals such as Milan, Rome, and Bilbao. The series will expand further in 2025 with upcoming editions at Radisson Collection properties in Cape Town, Galle, and Lyon.
For connoisseurs and cultural explorers alike, ‘Flavors of Kashmir’ is more than a dining experience—it’s a sensory journey through the soul of Srinagar.
