ATOAI Webinar stresses on safety & sustainability in adventure travel
The Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI) is calling for stronger safety, standards, and sustainability measures to support this rapid growth. In a webinar held on April 4, 2025, titled “Safety First: Risk Mitigation in Adventure & Outdoor Tourism”, industry experts emphasised the urgent need for trained professionals, certified equipment, standard operating procedures, and a solid regulatory framework. ATOAI has an ambitious goal to break into the global top 10 by 2034.
BWH Hotels India announces partnership with Headway Hospitality
BWH Hotels and SureStay by Best Western brands, has entered into a strategic partnership with Headway Hospitality, a specialised hotel development and management firm, to accelerate its growth across India and South Asia. Under this collaboration, Headway Hospitality will support BWH Hotels India & South Asia in identifying strategic development opportunities, offering pre-opening assistance, and providing end-to-end management services for BWH branded hotels in the territory.
BLR Airport reports record growth in passenger and cargo traffic
Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru (BLR Airport) recorded strong performance in FY 2024–25, surpassing 41.88 million passengers and handling over 500,000 metric tonnes of cargo. The airport saw double-digit growth in both domestic and international traffic, consolidating its role as a key aviation and logistics hub in India. It remains the country’s top airport for perishable exports for the fourth consecutive year.
17 new hotels coming up in Amaravati
In a major push to boost tourism and economic activity in Amaravati, 17 new hotels are set to come up in the region, supported by government cooperation and incentives. The Andhra Pradesh Hotel Association welcomed the move and thanked the state government for slashing the bar license fee for three-star and similarly classified hotels to ₹25 lakh — a decision expected to provide relief to an industry grappling with high operational costs.
