The initiative, organised under the leadership of FICCI FLO Lucknow Chapter Chairperson Ms. Simran Sahani, is driven by the Tourism & Hospitality Vertical. Mission Udaan is led by Ms. Hina Sheeraz, Director, Sheeraz Tours, Chairperson TAAI UP & UK, and Tourism & Hospitality Vertical Head, FICCI FLO Lucknow Chapter, along with Co-Vertical Head Ms. Lalita Goel.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 190 students and faculty members representing five leading educational institutions, including Lucknow University, Amity University, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia University, Integral University and Lucknow Public PG College.
A key highlight of Mission Udaan was the signing of an MOU between FICCI FLO Lucknow and Sheeraz Tours, under which Sheeraz Tours will serve as the Industry and Execution Partner for the initiative.
Through this strategic collaboration, selected students will undergo an intensive six-month, free-of-cost, industry-oriented training programme, designed to equip them with practical knowledge, professional skills and real-world industry exposure. The programme will cover key areas including package designing, visa documentation, GDS and ticketing, tour management, aviation, cruise tourism, hospitality and destination management.
As the Industry and Execution Partner, Sheeraz Tours will facilitate specialised training and mentorship by experienced industry professionals, enabling students to gain valuable insights into the dynamic world of travel and tourism. Eligible candidates will also be supported and guided towards suitable employment opportunities within the sector.
The larger vision of Mission Udaan is to create a pool of professionally trained and industry-ready tourism professionals who can contribute meaningfully to the growth of the Tourism and Hospitality industry. The initiative will particularly benefit Uttar Pradesh, a state with immense tourism potential, by helping develop skilled human resources capable of supporting and strengthening its rapidly expanding tourism ecosystem.
The programme further featured an insightful panel discussion titled “UP on the Rise: Tourism, Aviation & Hospitality Career Opportunities for Young Professionals,” moderated by Ms. Hina Sheeraz. The distinguished panel comprised Mr. Sarvesh Goel ( centrum hotel )Mr. Prateek Hira ( FICCI )Mr. Sameer Sharma ( Indigo ))Mr. Deepak Khare ( Air India)Ms. Preeti Srivastava ( UP tourism)and Mr. S. M. A. Sheeraz ( Sheeraz Tours ) who shared valuable perspectives on emerging opportunities, evolving industry trends and the skills required for young professionals to build successful careers in Tourism, Aviation and Hospitality.
Mission Udaan reflects a shared vision of FICCI FLO Lucknow and Sheeraz Tours to nurture young talent, strengthen the connect between education and industry, and create a skilled, confident and employment-ready workforce for India’s growing Tourism and Hospitality ecosystem.
With Uttar Pradesh emerging as one of India’s most promising tourism destinations, the need for skilled and professionally trained manpower has become increasingly important. Mission Udaan aims to address this need by preparing the next generation of tourism professionals who will contribute to the growth, quality and sustainability of the tourism industry in Uttar Pradesh and beyond.
