As the oldest and largest representative body of India’s Travel, Tourism & Hospitality industry—gearing up for its 75th anniversary in 2026—TAAI is once again stepping up as a catalyst for change and revival.
“Jammu & Kashmir remains an unparalleled destination, renowned for its breathtaking scenery and rich cultural heritage. While recent events may have raised concern, we must not allow them to overshadow the timeless glory of this region,” said Mr. Sunil Kumar, President, TAAI. “As we’ve championed for decades, tourism is a powerful force for peace and economic recovery.”
Campaign Highlights and Strategic Actions:
1. Unanimous Resolution to Promote J&K Travel:
On May 16, 2025, TAAI’s Managing Committee and Chapter Chairpersons came together to pledge active support for Kashmir tourism. The strategy involves engaging over 2,400 member companies to promote travel through nationwide outreach, including targeted promotions for families, groups, and solo travelers.
2. Government Collaboration:
TAAI is formally reaching out to the Hon’ble Chief Minister and authorities in J&K to ensure robust safety measures for travelers. “Tourist confidence hinges on safety assurances. We look forward to the government’s swift response and cooperation,” Mr. Kumar added.
3. Hospitality Sector Partnership:
In collaboration with hotels and tour operators, TAAI will curate exclusive promotional packages that emphasize care, comfort, and cultural immersion. “Exceptional hospitality must be at the heart of this revival,” Mr. Kumar stressed.
4. Engagement with Airlines:
TAAI is inviting airlines to offer discounted airfares to J&K, aiming to make travel more accessible and encourage higher footfall.
5. Empowering the Local Network:
The TAAI J&K Chapter, with over 100 active member organizations, is playing a crucial on-ground role in providing real-time support, destination insights, and travel facilitation to incoming tourists.
A National Appeal: Support & Solidarity
In its initial phase, the “Let’s Visit J&K” campaign aims to reach over one million potential travelers across India. Mr. Kumar’s message to citizens is both emotional and inspiring:
“We urge every Indian to open their hearts to Jammu & Kashmir. Make plans to visit this stunning region, support its resilient people, and stand with us in reviving a tourism economy that so many livelihoods depend on. Let’s make ‘Let’s Visit J&K’ a national movement.”
TAAI also invites travel associations, corporations, influencers, and individuals to join this mission and restore the vitality of one of India’s most cherished destinations.
