ONYX’s brands, particularly Amari Hotels, are top choices for Indian guests, followed by OZO, Oriental Residence, and Shama. The upcoming roadshow will spotlight all the major properties of ONYX Hospitality in Thailand, highlighting their appeal to the Indian market.
Bharath Satyavolu, Vice President, Commercial, ONYX Hospitality Group, shared his insights with BOTT India on the role the Indian market plays in uplifting Thailand’s tourism industry: “The Indian market is a top priority for ONYX Hospitality Group, ranking among our top five globally. Our recent roadshow in India underscores our commitment to engaging with Indian travellers, who increasingly seek unique and memorable experiences. By connecting directly with this dynamic market, we aim to showcase our diverse brand portfolio and gain insights to better meet the needs of both corporate and leisure travellers. We are dedicated to providing unforgettable experiences that make Indian guests feel at home, encouraging their loyalty and return.”
Discussing the expansion plans for ONYX Hospitality over the next five years, he added, “ONYX is positioning itself as the leading medium-sized hospitality management company in Southeast Asia, with ambitions to manage over 50 properties by 2025 across Malaysia, China, Hong Kong, Thailand, Laos, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. The company plans to expand to 70 locations by 2028. Upcoming openings include Amari Colombo in Sri Lanka and Amari Vientiane in Laos, both set for Q4 2024, along with Amari The Tide Bang Saen in Thailand, which will debut in 2025, offering a tranquil seaside retreat.”
When asked about the vision for Corporate and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) movements, he stated, “Expanding its presence in the corporate sector, ONYX Hospitality Group is strategically focusing on the corporate and MICE segments. Consequently, this year’s roadshow will be held in Chennai and Bangalore, allowing ONYX Hospitality Group to connect with key partners and address the direct demands of these market players and stakeholders. We are anticipating an increase in the number of conferences in the coming years.”
Lastly, highlighting their sustainability initiatives he said, “Our sustainability efforts are organized into three main categories: environmental, social, and community engagement. We are proud to be the first hospitality group in Asia to partner with UNESCO on cultural sustainability.”
