Hosted by Department of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Sports & Youth Affairs, the event served as the launchpad for Jharkhand’s ambitious ‘Vision 2050’ roadmap. While the state focused heavily on positioning itself as an emerging, well-connected tourist destination, the tourism push was integrated into a massive, multi-sector developmental strategy. Of the INR 87,000 crore pledged, a significant portion is earmarked for technology sectors, including artificial intelligence, data centres, digital governance, and start-ups.
To ensure long-term growth, state officials presented an array of proposed draft policies spanning tourism, public-private partnerships and investment promotion. Rather than finalising these frameworks behind closed doors, the state government actively invited national stakeholders to review the drafts and suggest changes.
The strategy aims to directly address the infrastructure and awareness gaps that have historically limited Jharkhand’s tourism and industrial potential. By focusing heavily on modern tech infrastructure alongside hospitality, the state is betting on a dual approach, building a robust digital economy while simultaneously enhancing regional connectivity and promotion to attract mainstream travellers. The consultations mark a critical step forward as Jharkhand seeks to transition into a modern economic hub.
Representatives of the government, IATO, ITC Hotels, EaseMyTrip, Atmosphere Hotels and travel media graced the occasion and held conversations around promoting Jharkhand on the Indian tourism map.
