The 9th Annual Convention of ADTOI is scheduled to take place in Gujarat this year from August 16 – 18, 2018. Sharing details of the same at a recently concluded press conference, Mr. P P Khanna, said, “The Convention will be held in Hyatt Regency, Ahmedabad, and will be different from the previously held conventions of ADTOI. Every year, we identify the issues bothering the tour operators and then have a panel of experts who sit and discuss the possible solution to these issues at the panel discussions held during the convention time. But this year, our sole focus will be on how states can be promoted and developed on PPP model. Our aim through this convention is to educate the tour operators on all that there is to know about a state – knowledge which will help them in selling the destination better to his clients. We will also have motivational session for our tour operators wherein we will try to give them a clear picture on where does the domestic tourism stands at the moment. We are in the process of collating authentic data of domestic tourism in our country, which will benefit out tour operators greatly.”
Sanjay Saxena and Anil Rajput, who are the Co-Convention Chairmen of this year’s convention also stood in agreement with what their President was saying. Another focus of this year’s convention is to promote more online registration, for which a complete system has been set in order including online payment option. However, offline registrations are also open. Air India is the airline partner for the Convention.
With the strong support of Gujarat Tourism, the Convention is backed with numerous Fam Trips curated especially for the tour operators, which will help them understand the tourism offerings in the state better. Visiting Statue of Unity will be an added attraction for many.
The Convention is likely to be inaugurated by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Vijay Rupani, Hon’ble Minister of Tourism, and Shri. Jawahar Chavda. Invitation has been sent to Hon’ble Minister of State for Tourism (I/C), Govt. of India, and Shri Prahalad Singh Patel to grace the occasion. As per the tentative programme the inaugural ceremony will be at 4.30 pm on August 16, 2019 at Hyatt Regency, Ahmedabad. “We are expecting over 400 delegates, mostly ADTOI Tour Operators members on PAN India basis to participate at the Convention. However, the Convention this time, is also open to non-members. On August 17, we will have Business Sessions, B2B meeting, Motivational Speaker Programme besides the Exhibition.
