Indian airlines carried 1.45 cr passengers in March; 8.79% higher YoY
Indian airlines carried 1.45 crore passengers in March, an increase of 8.79% compared to the year-ago period, according to official data released by DGCA. The Indian carriers had flown a total of 1.33 crore passengers in March 2024. IndiGo transported a total of 93.1 lakh passengers while Air India Group (full-service carrier Air India and Air India Express) flew 38.8 lakh passengers with 26.7% market share.
FLY91 to scale up operations to 150 weekly flights during Summer
In last one year, FLY91 has operated over 3,500 flights and carried close to 1.7 lakh passengers. The airline has consistently maintained a schedule of over 100 weekly flights, with increased frequencies scheduled for the peak summer travel period. FLY91’s third aircraft has now joined fleet, while the fourth is expected shortly. The airline plans to connect over 50 cities and induct 30 ATR aircraft over the next five years,
