Tourismus Marketing GmbH Baden-Württemberg, in partnership with Air India, organised two familiarisation (FAM) trips for Indian travel trade and corporate representatives, showcasing the diverse experiences of Baden-Württemberg in Southwest Germany. The visits highlighted the region’s potential for Indian travellers seeking nature, culture, distinctive local experiences and premium leisure opportunities, particularly during the autumn season.
The Trade FAM was dedicated to exploring Baden-Württemberg, while the Corporate/MICE FAM was organised in collaboration with Frankfurt Tourism Board, introducing corporate representatives to the region’s experiences and its potential for business travel and incentive itineraries.
With its colourful forests, charming towns, cultural heritage and opportunities for wellness, gastronomy and shopping, Baden-Württemberg offers a compelling proposition for travellers looking to experience a different side of Germany. Autumn adds another dimension to the destination, with golden landscapes, seasonal culinary experiences and inviting outdoor activities.

During the familiarisation visits, participants explored Baden-Baden, known for its historic spa heritage, elegant architecture and wellness experiences, before discovering the scenic surroundings and distinctive traditions of the Black Forest. The itinerary also included Triberg, where visitors could experience the region’s characteristic landscapes and local attractions. Cultural stops included the House of 1000 Clocks and Modestadl, offering an introduction to traditional clothing and regional craftsmanship.
The programme also featured Outletcity Metzingen, Europe’s largest shopping outlet, offering participants an opportunity to explore over 170 international premium and luxury brands premium. In Stuttgart, the groups discovered the city’s rich automotive heritage at the Mercedes-Benz Museum, which traces more than 130 years of automotive history through iconic vehicles, technological innovations and landmark milestones. As the capital of Baden-Württemberg, Stuttgart also offers a vibrant mix of culture, architecture, green spaces and culinary experiences, making it an appealing addition to itineraries across the region. Together, these experiences illustrated how Baden-Württemberg can appeal to a range of Indian traveller segments, combining nature, culture, relaxation, automotive heritage and premium shopping within one destination.
Commenting on the initiative, Cosima Jung, International Marketing Manager, Tourismus Marketing GmbH Baden-Württemberg, said: “Baden-Württemberg offers Indian travellers a wonderful mix of experiences, from the natural beauty of the Black Forest and the wellness traditions of Baden-Baden to authentic cultural encounters and exceptional shopping. Autumn is a particularly inspiring time to discover the region, as its landscapes and seasonal experiences create a distinctive atmosphere. Through our collaboration with Air India and our engagement with the Indian travel trade and corporate segment, we aim to strengthen awareness of Baden-Württemberg and encourage more Indian visitors to explore the many experiences our region has to offer.”

The FAM trips form part of the ongoing efforts to strengthen Baden-Württemberg’s visibility in the Indian market and build familiarity with its varied tourism offerings among travel trade stakeholders. By showcasing experiences that extend beyond Germany’s best-known gateway cities, the visits highlighted opportunities to develop itineraries that combine scenic landscapes, regional culture, wellness, shopping and distinctive local encounters.
