ATOAI announces new leadership team for 2026–28

The Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI) successfully conducted its Annual General Meeting (AGM) for the Financial Year 2025–26, followed by the elections for the Office Bearers and Executive Committee for the term 2026–28, marking an important milestone in the Association’s continued efforts to strengthen and advance India’s adventure tourism industry.

ATOAI announces new leadership team for 2026–28The AGM brought together members of the adventure tourism fraternity for an important day of institutional review, accountability and collective direction. The proceedings included the presentation of the Annual Report for FY 2025–26, consideration and adoption of the Audited Financial Statements, appointment of the Statutory Auditor for FY 2026–27 and discussions on matters concerning the Association and the wider adventure tourism sector.

A Year of Progress, Responsibility and Collective Action

Presenting the report and addressing the AGM, Arshdeep Anand, VP highlighted ATOAI’s continued commitment to building a stronger and more responsible adventure tourism ecosystem in India.

Over the past year, ATOAI has continued to work towards strengthening safety, sustainability, professional standards, training and capacity building, while deepening engagement with government institutions, tourism authorities and industry stakeholders.

The Annual Report presented at the AGM reflected the Association’s continued efforts to create greater awareness around responsible adventure tourism and to support the industry through advocacy, knowledge sharing, professional development and initiatives aimed at raising standards across the sector.

The AGM also reaffirmed the importance of a united industry voice as adventure tourism in India enters a period of significant opportunity and growth.

ATOAI Elects New Leadership for 2026–28

Following the conclusion of the AGM, elections for the 2026–28 term were conducted under the supervision of the Returning Officer, Rajeev Kohli.

The following leaders were elected to guide the Association for the next two-year term:

  1. President

Aquaterra Adventures India

Executive Committee Members

  1. Amit Periwal

Clubside Tours and Travels

The newly elected leadership assumes responsibility at a significant time for the Indian adventure tourism sector, as the country seeks to unlock the full potential of its mountains, rivers, forests, coasts and diverse adventure destinations.

A New Term, A Shared Vision

The new Executive Committee will build on ATOAI’s longstanding work towards creating an adventure tourism industry that is safe, sustainable, responsible, resilient and globally competitive.

The Association will continue to focus on strengthening safety practices and professional standards, expanding training and capacity building, promoting responsible and sustainable tourism, supporting destination development and engaging with government and industry stakeholders on policies that enable the responsible growth of adventure tourism.

With India increasingly recognised for its immense adventure tourism potential, ATOAI believes that the next phase of growth must be accompanied by greater professionalism, stronger safety systems and a clear commitment to protecting the natural and cultural environments in which adventure tourism operates.

The new leadership will therefore carry forward a clear mandate: to strengthen the industry from within, create greater opportunities for its members, and contribute meaningfully to establishing India as a leading global destination for safe and responsible adventure tourism.

Strengthening the Voice of Indian Adventure Tourism

The AGM and elections also reaffirmed ATOAI’s role as a collective platform for the country’s adventure tourism community.

For more than three decades, the Association has brought together adventure tour operators and tourism professionals with a shared objective of building a stronger and more credible industry. Its work has consistently centred on improving standards, promoting safety and sustainability, supporting professional development and creating constructive engagement between the industry and government.

The new leadership will take this legacy forward with a renewed focus on collaboration, innovation and  responsible growth.

Speaking on the occasion, the newly elected President, Tejbir Singh Anand said “As we take this leadership forward, the new incoming team is deeply committed to building upon the strong legacy created over the last thirty years. Our core focus will be on delivering tangible membership  benefits, fostering active mentorship, and truly listening to the evolving needs of our community. By encouraging and equipping our members to adopt the highest operational and safety standards, we will strengthen the industry from within and firmly establish India on the global map as a premier, responsible adventure destination.”

— Tejbir Singh Anand, President, ATOAI

The newly elected Executive Committee expressed its commitment to working closely with ATOAI members, government agencies, tourism boards and other stakeholders to advance the shared interests of the sector.
