IITM Mumbai 2026 opens, spotlighting tourism and destination weddings

Organised by Sphere Travelmedia & Exhibitions Pvt. Ltd., the two-day exhibition, being held on 30 and 31 October 2026, serves as a business platform connecting tourism boards, destination management companies, hotels and resorts, airlines, tour operators, travel agents, and other stakeholders from the travel and hospitality industry.

Gujarat Tourism is the Partner State for this edition, while Telangana Tourism and Jammu & Kashmir Tourism are the Feature States, highlighting the diversity of India’s tourism offerings, from cultural heritage and spiritual journeys to nature, adventure and immersive destination experiences.

The inauguration was attended by distinguished representatives of the travel, tourism and events industries, including Mr. Deepak Chaudhary, President, Event Management Association of India (EMAA); Mr. Rajesh Poddar, Chairman, Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI); Mr. Burjis Mehta, President, SKAL International Bombay; and Mr. Waseem Raja and Mr. Vevaik Puri representing Jammu & Kashmir Tourism.

The presence of these industry leaders underscored the importance of collaborative platforms that bring together tourism stakeholders, encourage business networking and create opportunities for the growth of domestic and international travel.

Gujarat Tourism Leads the Destination Showcase.Gujarat Tourism Leads the Destination Showcase. As the Partner State, Gujarat Tourism brings the destination’s diverse tourism attractions into focus, offering visitors opportunities to explore its rich cultural and historical heritage, spiritual destinations, wildlife, vibrant festivals and distinctive travel experiences.

The participation of Telangana and Jammu & Kashmir Tourism further strengthens the exhibition’s destination portfolio, providing travel trade professionals with opportunities to discover emerging products, develop new itineraries and establish business partnerships.

With over 150 exhibitors participating, IITM Mumbai provides a platform for tourism boards, hotels, resorts, destination management companies, tour operators and travel service providers to engage directly with the Mumbai travel trade and explore new business opportunities.

IITM Wedding Collective: Connecting Wedding Planners with Extraordinary Destinations

A key highlight of the Mumbai edition is the exclusive IITM Wedding Collective, a dedicated initiative designed to bring together the wedding industry and the travel and hospitality sectors. Under the theme “The Wedding Collective — Where Destinations Become Forever,” the initiative invites wedding planners, event managers, destination wedding specialists and associated professionals to explore new venues, destinations and hospitality experiences for weddings and celebrations.

The Wedding Collective will provide a focused platform for hotels, resorts, convention centres, destination wedding venues, destination management companies and travel technology providers to connect with wedding planners and event professionals seeking distinctive locations and end-to-end solutions for celebrations.

India’s destination wedding market presents significant opportunities for tourism destinations and hospitality businesses. Through this initiative, IITM aims to encourage greater collaboration between the wedding and travel industries, enabling destinations to position themselves as attractive choices for weddings, pre-wedding celebrations and associated travel experiences.

The Wedding Collective also seeks to encourage wedding planners and event managers to explore destinations beyond traditional wedding hubs, creating opportunities for regional tourism development and increased business for hotels, resorts and local service providers.

Rohit Hangal, Director, Sphere Travelmedia & Exhibitions Pvt. Ltd., said: “India International Travel Mart has consistently worked towards bringing the travel trade together and creating meaningful business opportunities for the tourism and hospitality industry. Mumbai is a significant feeder market for destinations across India and overseas, making it an important meeting point for tourism boards, hotels, resorts and travel professionals. With over 150 exhibitors participating, this edition provides an opportunity to strengthen business relationships, discover new products and encourage greater engagement between destinations and the travel trade. The inclusion of the Wedding Collective is a natural extension of this vision, addressing the growing convergence of travel, hospitality, weddings and experiential celebrations.”

Mr. Sanjay Hakhu, Director, Sphere Travelmedia & Exhibitions Pvt. Ltd., added: “Our objective with IITM is to create a platform where destinations and travel businesses can interact directly with the marketplace, build partnerships and explore new avenues for growth. Gujarat Tourism, along with our Feature States Telangana and Jammu & Kashmir, brings a diverse range of experiences to the exhibition. We are also excited about the Wedding Collective, which opens a dedicated avenue for wedding planners and event managers to connect with destinations, hotels, resorts and other specialised suppliers. We believe that combining destination promotion with focused business networking will help generate fresh opportunities for the participating stakeholders.”

IITM: Taking Tourism Business Across India

The Mumbai exhibition is part of the broader India International Travel Mart series, which connects tourism suppliers with important regional travel markets across the country.

By organising exhibitions in multiple cities, Sphere Travelmedia & Exhibitions aims to facilitate direct interaction between tourism boards, hospitality businesses and travel trade professionals, helping destinations expand their reach and build stronger distribution networks.

The upcoming IITM events are scheduled as follows:

IITM Pune: 26–28 November 2026

IITM Hyderabad: 3–5 December 2026

IITM Cochin: 7–9 January 2027

IITM Kolkata: 19–20 February 2027

IITM Ahmedabad: 12–13 March 2027

Each edition will offer participating destinations and businesses an opportunity to engage with the regional travel trade, strengthen market presence and develop new business relationships.
