Goa records growth in tourist arrivals
Goa welcomed 61.38 lakh visitors between January and July 2026, recording overall growth in tourist arrivals, according to the Department of Tourism. The state also saw continued momentum during the monsoon period, reflecting changing travel preferences. Tourism Minister Rohan A. Khaunte said travellers are increasingly exploring Goa beyond beaches, with growing interest in its culture, cuisine, heritage, wellness, nature and community-based experiences.
Sterling enters Chhattisgarh with Bastar Resort
Sterling Holiday Resorts has entered Chhattisgarh with the launch of Sterling Naman Bastar, Jagdalpur, marking its 80th resort in India and the first national hospitality brand in the city. Spread across 3.21 acres on Chitrakote Road, the resort features 45 rooms across five categories. The property positions Bastar as an emerging destination for nature, waterfalls, forests, caves, local crafts, cuisine and cultural experiences.
Dusit to open ASAI Gamuda Cove in Malaysia
Dusit Hotels and Resorts will open ASAI Gamuda Cove in Malaysia on September 15, 2026, marking the ASAI brand’s debut in the country. Located around 20 minutes from Kuala Lumpur International Airport, the 280-room hotel will be the brand’s largest property to date. Facilities include an infinity pool, gym, co-working spaces, meeting venues and three restaurants, with easy access to wetlands and family attractions.
SriLankan Airlines restores full Middle East Network
SriLankan Airlines has resumed six weekly flights to Kuwait, completing the restoration of its Middle East network covering Riyadh, Dammam, Dubai, Doha and Kuwait. The airline offers convenient connections via Colombo to key South Indian cities in under 90 minutes. With 90 weekly flights between India and Colombo across nine Indian cities, India remains SriLankan Airlines’ largest market, supporting growing regional and international connectivity.
