OTOAI meets Tourism Minister, discusses TCS, extends Moscow invite
The Outbound Tour Operators Association of India (OTOAI) recently met Hon’ble Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Union Cabinet Minister for Culture & Tourism, to discuss key issues affecting outbound tourism, especially the TCS concern. The Minister gave a patient hearing. OTOAI also formally invited him to be the Guest of Honour at its upcoming Moscow Convention 2025. The association delegation included Riaz Munshi (Past President), Shravan Bhalla (VP), Sidharth Khanna (Gen. Secy) and Vineet Gopal (EC Member).
Taiwan launches DOOH Campaign in Mumbai
Taiwan has witnessed a strong post-pandemic revival in the Indian market since its re-entry in January 2024, registering over 20% growth last year. Spearheaded by the Taiwan Tourism Administration (TTA), this success is attributed to its 360° market-specific strategies, especially focused on MICE. Etihad Airways launches loyalty partnership with Vietnam Airlines
Etihad Airways and Vietnam Airlines have signed a frequent flyer partnership agreement to allow loyalty members of either airline to earn and redeem miles across both networks from 1 July 2025. The MoU was designed to strengthen ties between the airlines and formalised a commitment to explore further collaboration for both Etihad and Vietnam Airlines’ customers. Etihad will begin flights to Hanoi in November this year.
