Dasho Tshering Tobgay extended a hearty welcome to international tourists, especially those from India. Speaking at the FICCI India-Bhutan Tourism Summit: Expanding Horizons, PM Tobgay outlined Bhutan’s ambitious initiatives to bolster tourism ties between the two nations.
Foremost among these initiatives is the streamlining of aviation services, promising seamless travel for tourists between India and Bhutan. Additionally, Bhutan aims to simplify the entry process by transitioning from visas to travel permits and enhancing accessibility for visitors. Talking about the numbers, Bhutan is aiming to mark around 1,50,000 tourists from India in 2024.
Moreover, Bhutan is aiming to attract foreign direct investment (FDI) into its tourism sector, signalling a commitment to sustainable growth and development. These strategic measures not only foster stronger bilateral relations but also built the way for mutual economic prosperity and cultural exchange.
