What’s New in Britain for the upcoming month – from dazzling exhibitions and brand-new tours to milestone anniversaries and exciting openings on the horizon (even beyond 2025!)

New accommodation, restaurants, and innovative food venue openings

Soho House, Manchester, England

Early 2025

Soho House is set to open its first property in the north of England, encompassing the upper three floors of Manchester’s former Granada Studios – located in the up-and-coming St John’s neighbourhood. The building, which is also home to Aviva Studios, is one of Manchester’s most iconic locations. As well as 23 deluxe rooms and suites, there will be a rooftop pool, workspaces that transform into a club after dark, dining rooms and lounges – all with Soho House’s signature creative flair.

 

Clydeside Containers, Glasgow, Scotland

Early 2025

Located along the River Clyde, Clydeside Containers presents an innovative development that blends urban living with sustainability. This eco-conscious project includes flexible spaces, green energy solutions, and locally sourced materials, offering visitors a unique opportunity to experience sustainable architecture.

 

The Britannic Explorer, A Belmond Train, London, Cornwall and the Lake District, England

July 2025

Belmond will launch England’s first luxury sleeper hotel train this summer, to coincide with the nationwide Railway 200 anniversary. All aboard the Britannic Explorer for fine dining, spa treatments, sumptuous cabins and spectacular views. Its inaugural three-night journeys will traverse London, Cornwall and the Lake District, with on-board cultural entertainment to enable passengers to delve deeper into their destinations. By day, it will host optional guided excursions, and by night guests can mingle in the Observation Car’s botanical-inspired bar.

 

CitizenM London Olympia, London, England

Late summer 2025

The fifth London property of the trendy CitizenM hotel brand, this 146-room property will be in West London’s Olympia. It will be part of the transformation of the Olympia exhibition centre, with a multi-functional arts space, theatre, four-screen cinema, restaurants and cafés on its doorstep. The hotel will feature co-working spaces, a 24/7 dining spot and the Apex Room – a historically- listed lounge and living area that will be open to the public

 

The PIG-on the Farm, Stratford-upon-Avon, England

Autumn 2025

The PIG–on the farm will open its doors in autumn 2025, nestled within 53 acres of picturesque landscape just outside Stratford-upon-Avon. This new addition will focus on sustainability, offering guests a unique experience that highlights local produce and the surrounding countryside. With a commitment to relaxed luxury, it promises to be a haven for both food lovers and nature enthusiasts.

 

Hotel Gotham, Bristol, England

Autumn 2025

Hotel Gotham in Bristol is set to breathe new life into the previously empty Guildhall, transforming it into a luxurious 5-star destination. With 75 elegant bedrooms, a chic restaurant, and indulgent spa, this hidden gem promises a relaxing escape for visitors.

 

Dorsett Canary Wharf, London, England

Winter 2025

Set to open in early 2025, Dorsett Canary Wharf will bring 231 guest rooms to Canary Wharf, London, offering modern amenities like a café, a restaurant, a gym, event space and terrace views. Just a short walk from Canary Wharf’s key transport links, the hotel provides easy access to Central London, London City Airport, and the Elizabeth Line. With its prime location in one of London’s major business districts, Dorsett Canary Wharf promises to be a standout destination for both leisure and business travellers.

 

Leafield luxury holiday park, Oxfordshire, England

Winter 2025

The former home of the Caterham Formula 1 team headquarters in the Cotswolds is set to be transformed into a luxurious holiday park, scheduled to open in late 2025. According to the planning application, it will feature 51 cabins, eight larger suite-style barns and two loft houses – alongside an indoor swimming pool, spa, outdoor hot tubs, changing rooms, shop, bar and restaurant. Expect a tranquil, nature-inspired atmosphere to suit both families and couples, with wood-built accommodation and extensive gardens.

 

Cambridge House, London, England

Winter 2025

Cambridge House at 94 Piccadilly is set to open as a luxury hotel and members’ club in 2025, transforming the historic Georgian mansion and Grade I listed Palladian-style townhouse into a 102-room property. Once home to high-profile figures including Prime Minister Lord Palmerston and Queen Victoria, the building will now feature fine-dining restaurants, a double-level spa with heated pools, and a hydrotherapy suite.

 

Waldorf Astoria London Admiralty Arch, London, England

Admiralty Arch’s transformation into a five-star-plus luxury hotel and members’ club is set to be one of London’s most significant openings in 2025. This iconic landmark, with its unrivalled views over Trafalgar Square and The Mall, will offer 100 luxurious rooms and suites, a cutting-edge spa, and several bars. For the first time, the public will have access to the building through a grand restaurant, making it a major talking point for travel and hospitality in the capital next year.

 

BOXHALL, Bristol, England

Bringing more fresh flavours to Bristol’s dining scene, BOXHALL will serve a mix of elevated street food, cocktails in one stylish waterfront location. From the creators of BOXPARK in London, it will be helmed by its “Food Ambassador” and Michelin-starred local chef Josh Eggleton, a torchbearer for Bristol’s pioneering chefs and concepts – alongside live music and events year-round.

 

Chester Zoo: Safari-style lodges, Cheshire, England

Chester Zoo is set to open 51 new safari-style lodges overlooking the area where its resident giraffes roam. Located beside the savannah-style enclosure and scenic lake, the accommodation will feature all the creature comforts of a deluxe hotel – with views that are straight out of Africa. Each one will sleep up to four or six people, making them well-suited to families seeking adventure. The project will also include a two-storey reception area with a restaurant, and a new lake for the animals to enjoy.

 

The Hoxton, Edinburgh, Scotland

The latest hotel in the Hoxton hotel chain will open in the Haymarket neighbour of Edinburgh. The 214-room hotel, split across seven Georgian townhouses also includes three houses for longer stays, plus a restaurant, large event space and gallery.

 

Six Senses Hotel, London, England

2025

Mark your calendars for early 2025, as Six Senses London makes its much-anticipated debut in the heart of Bayswater. Housed in the stunning former art deco department store, The Whiteley, this luxurious retreat will feature 109 beautifully designed guest rooms and suites, along with diverse dining options and a world-class Six Senses Spa. For those seeking a longer stay, 14 exclusive branded residences will be available for purchase, complete with bespoke design and premium amenities. Nestled near Hyde Park and Kensington Palace, this hotel promises a unique blend of elegance, comfort, and a vibrant city life, making it an unmissable addition to Britain’s luxury scene.

 

Georgian-themed accommodation at Beamish Museum, Durham, England

Don’t just spend the daytime-travelling at Beamish – enjoy a night of it, too. County Durham’s award-winning living museum will open the new (but old) self-catering Pockerley Farm Cottages and Flint Mill Cottages this year, for an authentic Georgian-style stay. All the accommodations will be styled just as they would have looked in their heyday, though with a few discreet modern comforts like flushing toilets! Two holiday lets will be opened initially, with plans for more to follow – including one with an accessible bedroom and bathroom.

 

Fingal Hotel, Edinburgh, Scotland

Fingal, Edinburgh’s luxury floating hotel, will enhance its dining offerings with an expanded Lighthouse Restaurant C Bar and a new private dining experience in the original Bridge. This addition promises a bespoke and immersive gastronomic journey for guests.
