Belmond will launch England’s first luxury sleeper hotel train this summer, to coincide with the nationwide Railway 200 anniversary. All aboard the Britannic Explorer for fine dining, spa treatments, sumptuous cabins and spectacular views. Its inaugural three-night journeys will traverse London, Cornwall and the Lake District, with on-board cultural entertainment to enable passengers to delve deeper into their destinations. By day, it will host optional guided excursions, and by night guests can mingle in the Observation Car’s botanical-inspired bar.

The fifth London property of the trendy CitizenM hotel brand, this 146-room property will be in West London’s Olympia. The former home of the Caterham Formula 1 team headquarters in the Cotswolds is set to be transformed into a luxurious holiday park, scheduled to open in late 2025. According to the planning application, it will feature 51 cabins, eight larger suite-style barns and two loft houses – alongside an indoor swimming pool, spa, outdoor hot tubs, changing rooms, shop, bar and restaurant. Expect a tranquil, nature-inspired atmosphere to suit both families and couples, with wood-built accommodation and extensive gardens.

Cambridge House at 94 Piccadilly is set to open as a luxury hotel and members’ club in 2025, transforming the historic Georgian mansion and Grade I listed Palladian-style townhouse into a 102-room property. The project will also include a two-storey reception area with a restaurant, and a new lake for the animals to enjoy.

County Durham’s award-winning living museum will open the new (but old) self-catering Pockerley Farm Cottages and Flint Mill Cottages this year, for an authentic Georgian-style stay. All the accommodations will be styled just as they would have looked in their heyday, though with a few discreet modern comforts like flushing toilets! Two holiday lets will be opened initially, with plans for more to follow – including one with an accessible bedroom and bathroom.
