According to a Hindustan Times report, the cost for a one-way helicopter ride will be Rs 5,000 per person. The government has formalised this initiative by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with JetServe Aviation Tourism Ltd. Late Thursday night.
Jaiveer Singh, the state’s Minister for Tourism and Culture, announced that the chief minister had stated the need for helicopter services to improve access to major eco-tourism sites, including Dudhwa National Park, Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary and the Pilibhit Tiger Reserve.
The helicopter service will operate from Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow and land at the state government airstrip in Palia.
Dudhwa National Park covers an area of 884 square kilometres and is renowned both nationally and internationally for its biodiversity. The park is home to a variety of wildlife, including tigers, leopards, elephants and rhinos, as well as numerous bird species. It is located alongside the scenic Mohana and Sharda rivers, enhancing its appeal to nature lovers. Notably, Dudhwa also hosts India’s first two rhino rehabilitation centres, showcasing the state’s commitment to wildlife conservation.
