In a bid to improve the tourist flow to the region, Tourism Malaysia will be launching the much-awaited VisitMalaysia 2020 campaign in a 3-city roadshow covering three main cities of India, namely Amritsar, Mumbai and Hyderabad from July 21- 27, 2019.
A total number of 37 participants from Malaysia comprising a combination of 16-travel agents, four product owners, nine hotels, three airlines and five others combine together to share the latest development of Malaysian tourism, and also to announce the Visit Malaysia year in 2020. There will be a special briefing on VISA, presentation by product owners and lucky draws.
Mohd Hafiz Hashim, Director, Tourism Malaysia Mumbai said, “We are keen to host VISIT MALAYSIA 2020 Roadshow in Mumbai because this will enable us to do a quality networking with the Travel Trade fraternity and to boost Indian tourist footfalls to Malaysia.”
The VM2020 roadshow emphasises India as main potential market for the country. In 2018, 600,311 (+8.6 per cent) Indian tourists visited Malaysia and spent almost RM 2.7 billion. Statistic from January until May 2019 show that a total of 295,609 with the growth of 15.5 per cent Indian visited Malaysia compared to same period last year.
