How has 2025 been for Taiwan in terms of Indian visitors?
Over the past two years, since we established the ‘Taiwan Tourism Information Centre’ in Mumbai, we have witnessed a consistent 20 per cent growth in the number of Indian visitors to Taiwan. India remains a huge high-potential market for us, and we are actively leveraging such opportunities to increase our outreach in the India market and attract more visitors from India to Taiwan.
What are the efforts being made to improve the connectivity between the two nations?
We are focusing on improving the connectivity between India and Taiwan. Currently, travellers have to transit through hubs such as Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur or Hong Kong. We are working on improving the connectivity, and by the end of this year, we will try to make the travel seamless for our Indian friends coming to Taiwan.
Which are the key traveller segments that you are focusing on?
We encourage incentive tours coming to Taiwan. In addition, we are focusing on luxury travel, wellness tourism and gastronomy. Taiwan is also well-equipped to cater to the growing wedding segment.
Is there any new campaign Taiwan Tourism is planning to launch?
‘Taiwan Never Sleeps” campaign is a major international tourism initiative launched by the Taiwan Tourism Administration (TTA). The campaign aims to position Taiwan as a “safe, bright, and warm” destination that offers vibrant activities even after dark.
How do you define ‘Waves of Wonder’?
‘Waves of Wonder’ highlights the incredible surprises that Taiwan has in store for its visitors. Many travellers are yet to explore Taiwan, and once they see what it has to offer, they are going to say ‘Wow’! These wonders will attract more Indian travellers as we have a rich cultural heritage, adventure activities, and a plethora of spell-binding gastronomical and shopping experiences.
