Addressing the audience, Dr. Kapoor emphasized the increasing role of digital devices such as smartphones and computers in our daily lives, especially with the rise in online gaming, social networking, and e-commerce. He pointed out that this surge in digital activity has also led to a significant rise in cyber crime cases, with children and women being the most vulnerable targets.“Cyber crime is a serious problem, and it is important to be aware and vigilant,” said Dr. Kapoor. He highlighted various tactics used by cyber criminals, including fake websites, social media scams, phishing emails, and malicious software. He advised the audience to be cautious about sharing personal information online and to avoid engaging with unknown individuals on social media platforms.
Dr. Kapoor further warned against using public Wi-Fi, clicking on suspicious links, and downloading apps or software from unverified sources. He urged attendees to regularly update passwords, avoid forwarding unverified posts on social media, and report any suspicious digital behavior immediately.
The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, where Dr. Kapoor addressed the concerns of participants and provided practical tips to safeguard themselves in the digital world.
