Following the success of Phase 1—which saw a significant increase in tourist applications from China and India—Phase 2 is set to build on that momentum. The scheme is part of the government’s broader commitment to modernizing the visa system by moving away from outdated manual processes and implementing a secure, digital infrastructure designed to support tourism and economic growth.
As part of this phase, domestic tour operators are invited to express their interest in joining the program within 30 days. Applications must be submitted exclusively via the Department of Home Affairs’ official online portal; paper-based submissions will not be accepted.
Consistent with the first phase, all applications will be evaluated by an interdepartmental panel, with the use of Artificial Intelligence tools to ensure efficient vetting and selection of qualifying operators.
