The tour lasting two hours commenced at Asiatic Library, culminating at Regal Cinema, Colaba Causeway followed by brunch at Olympia Cafe. Heritage monuments of Mumbai along the way were explained in detail including it’s history, significance & aesthetic values. Brady House, St Thomas Cathedral, Flora Fountain, Hutatma Chowk, Rajabai Tower, High Court, CSMV Museum were some of sites visited, all in an adorable condition, though well over hundred years!!
The event was presided over by Ishrath Alam, Assistant Director – India Tourism, Western Region who emphasized the need for sustainable measures in tourism to be adopted regularly, keeping in mind the theme of ‘Tourism & Sustainable Transformation’ on World Tourism Day. Sk Burjis Mehta & Managing Committee members thanked & presented him with a copy of the latest Published Skal INDIA magazine, KOTIN.
Sunil V.A – Regional Vice President, Oman Air mentioned the need for more such events for Tourism sector to be organised to create awareness about our incredible Tourism sites & breathtaking monuments.
The walk concluded over brunch at a Heritage Cafe, where President of Skal 144, Burjis Mehta addressed the gathering, thanking everyone who participated & gave a brief about the upcoming event.
