His earlier career includes the role of Financial Controller at Ibis Pune Viman Nagar, Finance Manager at Niranta Airport Transit Hotel & Lounge, and progressive finance positions at Crowne Plaza New Delhi Rohini, where he moved from General Ledger Executive to Assistant Manager — Finance. This wide-ranging exposure across full-service hotels, airport properties, and resort environments has given Kumar a versatile perspective on hospitality finance operations.
Kumar’s professional strengths include controls and audit management, budgeting and variance analysis, management reporting, taxation, and ERP implementation. He has led the transition of multiple properties from legacy accounting platforms to PSAP with zero disruption, and delivered Statutory and Internal Audits with zero material observations across his career. His cost-efficiency initiatives have also generated tangible results — including a cost-saving measure at a prior property that reduced monthly operational expenditure by over ₹8 lakhs through a shift from diesel to electric boiler systems.
Kumar holds a Chartered Accountant qualification from ICAI (November 2011), an IFRS certification from ICAI (December 2012), and a B.Com from the University of Delhi. He is proficient across hospitality-specific platforms including PeopleSoft, Sun Systems, Opera, FMC, and Tally.
In his new role at JW Marriott Mussoorie, Kumar will lead the Finance department with responsibility spanning financial reporting, budgeting, audit coordination, regulatory compliance, and capital expenditure planning — working in close partnership with the General Manager and department heads to support the resort’s continued growth.
