JW Marriott New Delhi Aerocity comes on board as the official India hospitality partner for IDCA for the DICC T20 Champions Trophy 2022 (UAE)

JW Marriott New Delhi Aerocity, part of JW Marriott – A luxury brand under Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio of 30 extraordinary hotel brands has come on board with Indian Deaf Cricket Association (IDCA) as the official India hospitality partner for the upcoming Deaf International Cricket Council (DICC) T20 Champions Trophy 2022 (UAE) to be held from October 1st to 9th in Sharjah, UAE.

As the official hospitality partner, JW MarriottNew Delhi Aerocity hosted a charity dinner yesterday which was well attended by sponsors, IDCA team, Board members and dignitaries, encouraging the team to give their best.

Also present at the evening gala dinner as a Special Guest was Ms. Vidisha Baliyan. She won the Deaf Miss World 2019 title, a lawn tennis player and has represented India in the 2017 Deflympics. Present on the occasion to wish the team were Ms. Kanika Dewan, Director Shikhar Dhawan Foundation &Mr. Jitten Vir Bhasin, CEO, Yuvraj Singh Group among other dignitaries.

Speaking about the collaboration, Roma Balwani, CEO Indian Deaf Cricket Association stated, “We are elated beyond words to partner with JW Marriott New Delhi Aerocity for the upcoming DICC T20 Championship Trophy. We are thankful for the faith they have shown in us and the support they have extended to our team. This generous gesture will motivate our team to perform better in the field and fill them with enthusiasm. Along with this, it will also help to promote sports among the specially-abled community in India.”

Sharing her thoughts on the collaboration Ranju Alex, Vice President South Asia, Marriott International Inc said “We are delighted and honoured to collaborate with the Indian Deaf Cricket Association for the upcoming T20 Champions Trophy 2022 (UAE) through one of our leading hotels in the country, JW Marriott Aerocity New Delhi. Guided by the company’s social responsibility platform – Serve 360 – that is to do good in every direction, this is our chance to give back to society and create a momentum that will truly make a difference. We have immense confidence in the team and believe they will serve as an inspiration for other specially-abled youth in the country to take up sports and make a career in it. We wish them all the  luck and success for the upcoming games.” 

Talking about the partnership, the President of the IDCA, Sumit Jain said, “We are excited to have JW Marriott New Delhi Aerocity onboard as the official India hospitality partner for the DICC T20 Championship Trophy. With the support of world-renowned brands like Marriott, we are hopeful to promote cricket among people with disabilities and motivate others to take up sports and make their name in it. Our team is super excited for the championship and are confident to bring the trophy home.”

The specially-abled team India is set to put its best foot forward against the competing countries in the upcoming DICC T20 Champions Trophy 2022 in UAE. IDCA has also rolled out the #DareToDream campaign to promote differently-abled cricket and to drive other developmental aspects around the lives of the differently-abled youth in the country. They have also partnered with INOX cinemas, Vistara and IndiGo for the upcoming event.
