Chief Minister Dr. Yadav performed Bhoomi Pujan and inaugurated 42 development works worth more than Rs 301 crore in Chanderi, Mungawali and Ashoknagar. This includes Bhoomi Pujan of 8 development works worth more than Rs 228 crore and the inauguration of 34 development and public welfare works worth more than Rs 72 crore. Various public welfare works including roads, bridges, laboratory rooms in schools, and public health units will be constructed with this amount.
Union Minister, Ministry of Civil Aviation and Steel, Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia said that from Mahakal Ujjain to Chanderi, there has been a history and pride of culture and rich heritage. While Tansen’s city is Gwalior, Baiju Bawra’s city is Chanderi. No stone will be left unturned to make Chanderi a Tourism Center in Madhya Pradesh.

Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Culture, Tourism and Religious Trusts and Endowments, Shri Dharmendra Singh Lodhi said that the history of Chanderi is a history of bravery and pride. He expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Dr. Yadav for giving gifts of development to Chanderi.
Additional Managing Director of Tourism Board Mr. Vivek Shrotriya highlighted the Craft Handloom Tourism Village project in his welcome address. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav started the program by traditionally performing Kanya Puja and lighting of the lamp.
An exhibition on handloom products of the state was organized by the Weavers Service Center, Indore of the Ministry of Government of India at the venue of the program. In the exhibition, the state’s traditional Chanderi saree, Maheshwari saree, woven cotton stole, Sarangpur Chadar, and Chakdhariya Baiga saree including naturally dyed and hand block printed sarees were displayed.
Union Minister Shri Scindia visited the “Craft Handloom Tourism Village” at Shuttle Chowk in Pranpur village. He discussed with the families traditionally doing handloom work in Pranpur village. After getting information about the specialities of handloom, sarees and suit clothes, he congratulated the families for preserving the art for generations and wished them a bright future.
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, efforts are being made to preserve and promote the traditional handlooms and handicrafts of the country. Like Chanderi, efforts will be made to preserve the art and culture that has been going on for generations in other places in the state.
