The Society for Incentive Travel Excellence (SITE), which is a global association having 2500 plus members across 90 countries, recently appointed Mr. Barun Gupta as the President of its India chapter for the term 2022 – 2023. The association is dedicated to the incentive travel industry across the world and works tirelessly to promote MICE at a global platform.
“Currently there are about 40 members in the India Chapter and in the last two weeks, more than 7 new members have joined in. Over the period of next 3 months, our aim is to reach 70-member figure in the India Chapter and rope in ore SITE Young Leaders,” shared Mr. Gupta.
Barun had joined Site five years back and feels that the association helped him grow as a professional as it involved frequent interaction with like-minded professionals. There is no doubt that Covid-19 has severely affected the MICE industry but the new President is confident of happier times to return soon.
“Going forward our immediate focus will be to create an environment of knowledge within the association based on expert talks and sharing of views and ideas. I would like to strongly focus on building the membership base and also add some Tourism Boards as our members. We have to together fight back and come out of this pandemic stronger and better,” he concludes.
