The inaugural session, replete with an impressive line-up of dignitaries, focused on the themes of sustainable tourism, showcasing India as the ultimate travel destination and delving into the future prospects of the travel and tourism industry.
Mr. Rituparna Baruah, Chairman of ATDC Ltd., spoke passionately about the importance of merging technology with tourism for a seamless experience. He was seconded by Mr. P P Khanna, the President of ADTOI, who shed light on India’s vast cultural tapestry and its potential to draw global tourists.
Chairman of the Goa chapter of IATO, Mr. Martin Joseph Thypodath, emphasised the unique allure of Goa and its evolution as a top destination beyond its famous beaches. Mr. Abhijit Arun Khadilkar, a member of the ETAA National Board, shared insights on building a resilient industry, especially post the challenges thrown by the recent past.
The session also featured Mr. Debajit Borah, President of TOAA, and Mr. Sainath Dharwatkar, Chairman of the Goa chapter of TAAI. Both drew attention to the value of intra-country travel and supporting local businesses.
Mr. Nilesh Shah, President of TTAG, concluded the session, highlighting the role of communities in sustaining tourism and preserving India’s natural and cultural gems.
