Many Indian travellers cheered when Switzerland started welcoming fully vaccinated tourists across its border starting 23rd June 2021. And now families with children travelling to the alpine country can heave a sigh of relief as they too can start exploring and enjoy their vacation immediately as soon as they land!
- All travellers need to be fully vaccinated with a CHE, EU and WHO-approved vaccine plus the 15 days cooling off period post the 2nd dose.
- Fully vaccinated adults can enter Switzerland without undergoing health-related measures at the time of entry, including quarantine.
- For Indians, the approved vaccine is Covishield.
- The exemptions to the health-related measures at the border apply for twelve months from the time that the traveller was fully vaccinated.
The above regulations are only applicable to Switzerland. Transit through other countries to Switzerland and visiting other Schengen countries internally from Switzerland might be restricted, depending on the travel regulations outlined by the respective country. Travellers are advised to check with the authorities of concerned countries while planning.
The Embassy of Switzerland Visa Section in Delhi and VFS Global have started accepting applications for all types of Schengen Swiss visas, including Type C (entry and a stay of up to 90 days within a period of 180 days). Vaccinated people can file for their visa applications in VFS Global centres in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Chennai, Cochin and Hyderabad.
