As Dubai readies itself to open its doors to visitors from around the world, the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (Dubai Tourism) is focused on assuring travelers and trade partners of the city’s ability to not only receive guests safely and allow for a well-rounded destination experience; but also be able to ensure that the health and wellbeing of all communities within the city remains uncompromised.
Continuing to nurture its trade relationships and demonstrate its commitment to the Indian Travel Trade, Dubai Tourism has been very active in its communications with its lead source market through hosting multiple webinars, sharing information on the latest developments, and most recently launching a virtual gaming night of a Dubai-themed version of Housie.
The customized version of the traditional game swapped the numbers for Dubai’s famous landmarks and attractions such as Dubai Creek and Dubai Frame, to promote awareness of the destination’s different tourism pillars.
To add a surprise and delight element to the virtual gaming night, a live performance from popular Emirati singer Adel Farooq wowed participants, singing two of his favourite Hindi songs, both classics from the 70s. The evening was streamed on Zoom and Facebook Live and saw over 400 attendees, including major travel agents, tour operators and freelancers experience Dubai from a distance.
Hospitality and stakeholders who provided prizes on the evening for future experiences included, La Perle, Dubai Parks & Resorts, Kidzania, Rove Hotels, Armani Hotel, Royal Gulf, IMG Worlds of Adventure and Burj Khalifa’s At The Top amongst others.
Now more than ever Dubai Tourism is thankful to its trade and industry partners and will continue its collaborative solution-building and commitment to working with hotels and all stakeholders to collectively address these strategic decisions as a destination. The remarkable development and momentum of Dubai’s tourism sector over the past decade and its ambitious plans for the future – which remain undiminished despite the current challenges – will ensure the city’s continued success as one of the world’s most popular destinations.
