A structure built in the capital in the memory of our valiant soldiers who laid down their lives protecting India since Partition was inaugurated by the PM last evening. Dedicating the War Memorial to the nation, the PM said that the memorial would serve as an inspiration to the youth of the country and lauded the security forces, saying that their ‘sacrifices mattered the most.’ This new memorial has been instituted in the heart of Delhi, in close vicinity of India Gate and Amar Jawan Jyoti. The National Soldiers’ Memorial is a symbol of the nation’s gratitude to those men who made the supreme sacrifice after we gained Independence. “India not having a National War Memorial used to surprise me, pain me a memorial that would house the valour saga series of our brave soldiers who laid down their lives, safeguarding their nation’s security. And I took a resolve that the country must have such Memorial,” said the honourable Minister. Following the inauguration of the National War Memorial, Prime Minister Modi also viewed the gallery at Veerta Chakra at the War Memorial that exhibits six murals crafted in bronze showcasing the valiant battles fought by the brave-hearts.
