Air India Group to begin operations from Navi Mumbai Airport
Air India Group has announced the launch of flights from the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMI), operated by Adani Airport Holdings Ltd. In the first phase, Air India Express will operate 20 daily departures to 15 cities. By mid-2026, the group plans 55 daily departures, including five international flights, scaling further to 60 departures by Winter 2026—reinforcing its commitment to expanding connectivity and supporting India’s growth as a global aviation hub.
Germany records strong growth from India in 2025
The German National Tourist Office (GNTO) announced robust growth from India, with over 520,000 overnight stays recorded from January–July 2025, making Germany a top-three European destination for Indians. Improved air connectivity (+26% vs. 2019) and targeted campaigns have fuelled demand, alongside strong economic impact (€1.1 billion turnover in 2024). With average spends of €3,068 per trip, India remains a high-value market. GNTO will soon launch campaigns featuring Indian celebrities showcasing Germany’s hidden treasures.
