Wyndham adds new four hotels in tier 2 cities
Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, has announced the addition of four new hotels in Jaipur, Varanasi, Mohali, and Udaipur under its Ramada, Howard Johnson by Wyndham, and upscale Wyndham brands. The new openings will see Wyndham touch the 50 hotels mark in the country as projected by Nikhil Sharma, director, Eurasia region at Wyndham, in an interview with Mint last month. As part of its commitment to grow in the Indian sub-continent by adding approximately 30 hotels, at least eight are expected to open in 2022. Earlier this year, the company had launched its 160-room Wyndham property in Ahmedabad.
ATT – ITDC inks MoU with CRPF to cater to their travel needs
Ashok Travels and Tours (ATT), the Travel division of India Tourism Development Corporation, New Delhi (ITDC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). Under the MoU, ATT will provide online travel solution for booking air tickets and travel-related services to CRPF executives during official journeys. The MoU was signed between Shri. Rajiv Anand, General Manager (ATT) and Shri. M.S. Bhatia, IG (Admin), CRPF in the presence of Sh. S.D. Paul, VP(F&A), ITDC and senior officials from both organizations.
Vistara resumes flights to Singapore amid renewed Covid concerns
A Vistara flight from Mumbai landed in Singapore on Monday while Singapore Airlines and IndiGo were also scheduled to resume their flights between the two countries even as the airlines awaited clarity on operations in view of the detection of a new Covid-19 variant–Omicron. Vistara operated the Mumbai-Singapore flight under the Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL), which allows quarantine-free travel to Singapore for fully vaccinated travellers. The airline has scheduled five flights weekly to Singapore.
