FHRAI urges Govt. to include banquet halls in hotels as vaccination venue
The Federation of Hotel and Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI) requested the ministry of health & family welfare (MoHFW) to include banquet halls in hotels as mass immunisation venue for the corporate sector. In its appeal to the ministry, FHRAI said that banquet halls in hotels are better equipped than schools, colleges, or community halls for the purpose. It further added that during the first lockdown many hotels were requisitioned by local authorities for accommodating doctors and medical workers and also for quarantining Covid patients. This has made them aware of all the safety protocols making them fully capable of conducting mass vaccination at their venues.
Airbus enlists A350 test aircraft to fly humanitarian aid to India
Airbus has enrolled its A350 test aircraft to fly humanitarian aid to India. Including ventilators and oxygen generators, the shipment is intended to help the country as it remains gripped by its second COVID-19 wave. The wave has proved particularly deadly because of the spread of the Delta variation. The aid is in addition to another 26 tonnes already organized in coordination with the French embassy in India. These previous supplies included eight oxygen generators and are already saving lives, having been distributed to areas in need by the Indian Red Cross.
Five Airports to set-up eight fresh Flying academies
The Union government of India made an essential announcement confirming the development of eight new Flying training academies over 5 Airports of India. This forge forward with an objective to make India a global pilot training hub, the Ministry of Civil Aviation said on Wednesday. The five airports — Belagavi and Kalaburagi in Karnataka, Jalgaon in Maharashtra, Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh and Lilabari in Assam, have been carefully chosen since they have minimal disruption due to weather issues and civil or military air traffic, New Development of the eight academies is aimed at making India a global flying training hub and to prevent the exodus of Indian cadets to foreign academies. Additionally, these academies will also be designed to cater to the flying training requirements of cadets in India’s neighbouring countries.
