Thailand unveils new vision to redefine tourism in 2026
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), under the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, has unveiled its 2026 strategy under the theme “Value is the New Volume”—ushering in The New Thailand and signalling a bold shift to redefine Thai tourism through quality, balance, and sustainability. The announcement took place at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre in Bangkok. Despite global tourism facing several challenges in 2024, Thailand remains a leading destination.
Air India completes precautionary inspections on Boeing 787 and 737 fleet
Air India has successfully completed precautionary inspections of the Fuel Control Switch (FCS) locking mechanism on all Boeing 787 and 737 aircraft, in compliance with DGCA directives issued on July 14, 2025. The Boeing 737s are operated by Air India Express, its low-cost subsidiary. No issues were found during the checks, which began voluntarily on July 12. Both airlines met the DGCA’s deadline, and the completion has been officially communicated to the aviation regulator.
Garner by IHG expands in India with new signing in Kutch, Gujarat
IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of Garner Kutch, its third Garner-branded property in India this year. Scheduled to open in early 2026, the 40-room hotel will be operated by Rosastays and marks IHG’s continued focus on midscale conversions in emerging markets. The hotel comes equipped with facilities like a spa, pool, and meeting spaces and will cater to business and leisure travellers alike.
Absolute Hotel Services signs upscale property in Ajmer, Rajasthan
Absolute Hotel Services (AHS) has signed its second landmark property in Rajasthan with Gold Stone Adventure Resorts, marking its debut in Ajmer. The new upscale 92-key hotel will feature a restaurant, bar, nightclub, banquet hall, spa, and sprawling lawns for weddings and events. This strategic move strengthens AHS’s presence in North India and taps into Ajmer’s rising appeal among modern travellers.
