Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), the flag carrier of Azerbaijan recently launched its direct flight from New Delhi to Baku. The first flight took off on June 26 amidst good response from T3 New Delhi. The twice-weekly flight will depart on Wednesday and Saturday from Delhi and Tuesday and Friday from Baku offering visitors the option for short as well as week-long holiday.

Set to be a game changer in the industry for strong connectivity, safety and comfort of passengers, Azerbaijan Airlines will increase the tourist flow from India into Baku and also bring in inbound tourists from Baku. The six and half hour flight can be enjoyed on a full-service carrier operated by Azerbaijan Airlines with 180 seats and 2 class configuration.
Air tickets can be booked online through the offices of AZAL’s official agents. Importantly, tourist visa for Azerbaijan can be obtained online through https://evisa.gov.az/en at a nominal cost of US$ 25. The visa to Baku can be obtained in 3 days and if you happen to make a last minute program, the visa, at an additional cost, can be made available in just few hours. Commenting on this new milestone, Jamil Manizade, Director, Azerbaijan Airlines remarked, “India ranks very high in our list of priorities.
