The Viet Nam National Authority of Tourism (VNAT) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with VFS Global, the global leader in trusted technology services, empowering secure mobility for governments and citizens, to promote Viet Nam as a preferred tourism destination across key source markets, including India.

The MoU was signed in Hanoi on 6 August 2026 in the presence of Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh, Chairman, Viet Nam National Authority of Tourism; Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa Mai, Vice Chairwoman, Viet Nam National Authority of Tourism; Mr. Nguyen Quy Phuong, Director of International Relations & Tourism Promotion Department, Viet Nam National Authority of Tourism; Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hoang Lan – Director, Digital Transformation Center for Culture, Sports and Tourism; Mr. Simon Peachey, Chief Operating Officer – China, Australasia & RCIS, VFS Global; Mr. Shrishen Muniandy, Country Manager – Viet Nam, VFS Global, and other dignitaries from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Viet Nam National Authority of Tourism, and the British Embassy in Hanoi.

The partnership aims to enhance awareness of Viet Nam’s tourism offerings and support the country’s inbound tourism growth objectives through coordinated promotional activities. Under the agreement, Viet Nam’s tourism destinations, experiences and travel opportunities will be showcased through VFS Global’s extensive customer touchpoints, including Visa Application Centres (VACs), digital platforms, communication channels, information counters and digital displays in priority markets.

The collaboration will also include destination presentation programmes, participation in international tourism fairs, business networking initiatives, and engagement with tourism industry stakeholders, travel trade partners and strategic customers.

Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh, Chairman, Viet Nam National Authority of Tourism, said, “On this occasion, I would like to sincerely thank VFS Global for its cooperation and partnership. VFS Global currently operates more than 4,200 centres across 169 countries and territories. This extensive international network provides direct access to numerous source markets and potential visitor segments. I am confident that, through this cooperation framework, the image of and information about Viet Nam as a destination will have greater opportunities for regular, broad and effective visibility across VFS Global’s network, particularly in Viet Nam tourism’s target markets.”

Mr. Simon Peachey, Chief Operating Officer – China, Australasia & RCIS, VFS Global, said, “We are honoured to partner with the Viet Nam National Authority of Tourism to support the promotion of Viet Nam as a leading travel destination. With Viet Nam targeting 45-50 million international visitors by 2030, this long-term partnership comes at an exciting time for the country’s tourism sector. By combining VNAT’s destination expertise with VFS Global’s global reach and trusted customer touchpoints, we aim to inspire more travellers to discover Viet Nam’s rich culture, stunning landscapes and unique experiences, while supporting the country’s tourism growth ambitions.”

As part of its expanding tourism services portfolio, VFS Global has established strong regional and global capabilities that complement its core visa services business. Backed by 16 years of experience in tourism representation and promotion, VFS Global’s Tourism Services unit has supported more than 27 destinations worldwide through market development, destination marketing, trade engagement and tourism promotion initiatives.

Viet Nam projects international tourist arrivals to grow by 15-18% annually, targeting 45-50 million visitors by 2030. In 2025, the tourism industry achieved encouraging and remarkable results. For the first time, Viet Nam welcomed more than 21 million international visitors. In 2026, Viet Nam aims to welcome 25-27 million international visitors. India a high-potential source market for Vietnam with strong growth momentum – 0.75 million travellers in 2025; 0.49 million in first six months of 2026.
