Rooted in innovation, storytelling and immersive experiences, the new edition takes the concept further through richer narratives, refined execution and a more immersive guest experience.
Drawing inspiration from celebrated literary works and the authors behind them, each cocktail offers a thoughtful interpretation of the world it represents. From the haunting emotional depth of Toni Morrison’s Beloved and the boundless imagination of Carl Sagan’s Cosmos to the noir intrigue of Farewell, My Lovely, the menu translates each narrative through carefully considered ingredients, innovative techniques and layered flavour profiles. Every cocktail has been thoughtfully constructed to reflect the mood and essence of its inspiration, incorporating elements such as pandan, deep-frozen tomatoes, parmesan cheese and house-made infusions to create drinks that translate technical innovation to crafted cocktails.

The Library Bar team shares, “One of the collection’s most distinctive creations replaces conventional ice with deep-frozen tomatoes, thoughtfully repurposed from surplus produce at Le Cirque. Inspired by Bar Sathorn’s ‘Bangkok Brunch’, the drink evolves as the frozen tomatoes subtly influence its flavour profile over time, demonstrating how innovation, global exchange and sustainability can coexist seamlessly”
The artistic intensity of The Agony and the Ecstasy and the layered complexity of Infinite Jest further shape the collection, with each cocktail revealing its story through flavour, presentation and engaging tableside rituals. The experience is further elevated through immersive visual cues, including a cocktail menu presented as a bookmark within leather-bound editions of the literary works that inspired the collection, allowing every drink to unfold much like the story from which it draws inspiration.
Atul Tiwari, Hotel Manager, The Leela Palace New Delhi, said, “We have had the privilege of collaborating with more than 60 bars from across the world, and Literary Mixology, Volume II is the culmination of two years of research, experimentation, techniques, perspectives and ideas exchanged through these collaborations”. He added, “We are excited to bring this new edition to our guests and invite them to experience Literary Mixology, Volume II, where every cocktail tells a story of its own.”
With this launch, The Library Bar further strengthens its position as a destination for refined cocktail experiences within The Leela Palace New Delhi. Recognised among India’s 30 Best Bars for five consecutive years, the bar continues to build on its legacy through concepts that combine creativity, craftsmanship, and contemporary hospitality.
