Opening the session, TAFI Western India Chairman Jay Kantawala welcomed members, industry partners, and invited guests, emphasising the importance of collective growth and knowledge exchange in the evolving travel landscape.
Addressing the gathering, TAFI Western India Secretary Arun Iyer highlighted current challenges impacting the travel ecosystem and stressed the importance of strengthening the role of travel agents amid dynamic geopolitical developments. He also encouraged members to utilise TAFI WI’s recently developed awareness videos designed to reinforce the value proposition of professional travel advisors to consumers.
The meeting featured a series of destination and technology-focused presentations aimed at enhancing trade knowledge and business opportunities. Rosemay Muthoni, Director of Sales, presented SOPA Lodges, showcasing wildlife hospitality experiences across East Africa. Destination Greece was presented by Nicholas from WOTF Group, represented in India by Global Destinations, highlighting Greece’s growing appeal as a premium outbound destination for Indian travellers. The technology segment featured Manoj Samuel, CEO & Director, Riya Travel, who delivered an in-depth presentation on ‘NDC: Features, Future & Opportunities,’ providing insights into the evolving airline distribution framework and its potential impact on the travel trade.
During the event, TAFI Western India also inducted new members including Dilshad Bhuariwala from DMC Bazaar, Neville Gheewala from Navigation Global Travels, and Satish Venkatraman from Divyadesh Travels, further expanding the association’s network.
The meeting was attended by key international stakeholders including Sanya Hamilton, VP Sales – Allied T-Pro, USA, along with representatives from the Sri Lankan Consulate, reflecting continued global engagement with the Indian travel trade.
The evening concluded with networking interactions among members and a Lucky Draw featuring exclusive hospitality stays in Greece, sponsored by WOTF Group.
