TOFT and Travelife for Tour Operators, represented by the European Centre for Eco and Agro Tourism (ECEAT), have extended their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote sustainability awareness and responsible business practices among tour operators and travel agents in India and Nepal.
Under the agreement, TOFT will promote and manage the Travelife for Tour Operators sustainability tools & management systems — for its members. These tools are based on international standards such as ISO 26000 & are EU complaint.
The MoU outlines mutual responsibilities for implementation:
· TOFT will provide member access to Travelife’ s online training and reporting tools, support local adaptation of standards, appoint approved coaches, and promote certified companies within the region.
·Travelife will supply the platform, manuals, helpdesk, training resources, and international certification oversight.
TOFT and Travelife have been associated for several years in advancing responsible tourism initiatives. Active cooperation began in January 2022, supported by the SUSTOUR project under the EU Switch Asia programme and has since expanded to include structured implementation of the Travelife for Tour Operators programme across India and Nepal.
