The Travel Agencies Association of Pune (TAAP) held its Annual General Meeting with great enthusiasm at Hotel Tarawade Clarks Inn, opening doors to fresh opportunities and instilling renewed confidence in Pune’s travel community.
The event was a powerful confluence of unity, opportunity, dialogue, and resolve. Patron members, invited guests, and regular members came together to exchange experiences and reaffirm their commitment to exploring new business prospects.
In his inaugural speech, Nilesh Bhansali stated,”In today’s fast-paced world, the travel industry faces many challenges, but with unity and vision, new avenues of income and growth naturally emerge. TAAP is not merely an association — it is a family.”
Following the speech, Aniket Kelkar presented a detailed review of the past year’s activities, while Treasurer Mohan Shedge shared a transparent financial report. Payal Joshi delivered a thoughtful and well-researched vote of thanks.
Vice President Amit Pandit, Navin Mahajan, Krishna Gaikwad, Vivek Gole, and Vishwanath Kakade welcomed the guests, creating a warm and engaging atmosphere. The event was moderated by Mugdha Pandit.
The Open Forum served as the heart of the AGM, where members openly discussed industry challenges, emerging trends, and upcoming opportunities. Many innovative ideas and valuable suggestions were shared for TAAP’s future initiatives.
This yea’s event also saw international participation as Rustam Chhetri from Nepal and Hemlal Sharma from Bhutan marked the beginning of TAAP’s expansion on a global scale. Former Presidents Dr. Vishwas Kelkar, Deepak Pujari, and Jagannath Pandit also provided inspiring guidance.
Initiatives launched to make travel safer and secure:
With increasing incidents involving fraudulent travel agencies, it is now more important than ever for customers to remain vigilant. TAAP has initiated an awareness campaign with the message:
“For safe travel, book only through certified TAAP professionals.”
Professional Agent Certification – A New Milestone-
To ensure high standards of quality, transparency, and ethical business practices in the travel industry, TAAP launched the ‘Professional Travel Agent Certification’ initiative. Mr. Hemant Pai elaborated on the program, stating:
“Business knowledge should not be a privilege of a few — from now on, every agency will operate based on TAAP’s defined professional benchmarks. This will strengthen customer trust and agent confidence.”
Unity, Direction, and Optimism-
The overarching message of the event was clear — Together, we can overcome any obstacle. Be it economic hurdles or evolving market trends, TAAP members have shown the resilience of a phoenix, rising stronger and forging new paths forward.
