ITB India 2024 is a three-day business-to-business travel and tourism trade fair, designed specifically for the Indian travel market. The event provides a dynamic platform for the travel trade sector, bringing together industry leaders, key buyers, international MICE players, and leading service providers. It offers an unparalleled opportunity for the travel trade community to gain valuable insights from knowledge sessions, engage in meaningful interactions, and foster new partnerships while strengthening existing ones.
Day one of this innovative tourism conference featured powerful knowledge sessions, networking with the crème de la crème of the travel trade industry, and countless opportunities to connect. The momentum carried into day two, with palpable energy and excitement filling the venue. A series of insightful panel discussions saw key leaders from various travel sectors sharing their perspectives on topics such as “Unleashing India’s Potential to be the Next Powerhouse for Travel,” “Exploring New Frontiers in Sustainability and its Impact on the MICE Industry in India,” and “C-Suite Talk: Travelling in the Age of ChatGPT,” to name a few.
Prominent exhibitors included Club Med, Europcar, the Kenya Tourism Board, the Sarawak Tourism Board, the Spain Tourism Board, the Taiwan Tourism Bureau, Visit Berlin, and Visit Oulu, among many others. These exhibitors expressed positive feedback about day one and looked forward to more meaningful discussions with buyers over the remaining days of the event.
Joyce Wang, Executive Director of Messe Berlin Asia Pacific, shared her insights on ITB India 2024, stating, “Our entry into the Indian market aims to connect South Asian travel with the international market. ITB as a brand encompasses Berlin, Asia, China, and now our newest member, ITB India.”
Speaking on how this year’s edition differs from the last, she added, “Naturally, we’ve seen growth. The response has been overwhelmingly positive, especially with a notable increase in interest from the MICE sector. Convention Boards and many international MICE exhibitors have joined us this year, which marks a significant shift. We see this as a niche for both ITB India and ITB Asia, as traditionally, the Indian market has been more leisure-focused.”
