Bijnor district is quickly becoming a hotspot for adventure sports enthusiasts. On Sunday, district officials inaugurated a new rafting facility on the Kalagarh Ramganga river, further enriching the district’s tourism profile. This follows last month’s launch of a hot air balloon safari, marking Bijnor’s growing appeal for thrill-seekers.
The inauguration ceremony was led by Bijnor District Magistrate Ankit Kumar Agarwal and Chief Development Officer (CDO) Purna Bora. Both officials participated in the rafting activities, experiencing firsthand the excitement that the new facility offers.
CDO Purna Bora highlighted the significance of this development in a statement to the media. “With rafting now available in Bijnor, enthusiasts no longer need to travel to Rishikesh and Haridwar. This new facility will significantly boost adventure tourism in our district,” Bora stated. He emphasized that Bijnor’s natural resources are well-suited for various adventure sports, making it an attractive destination for adventure tourists traditionally drawn to Haridwar and Rishikesh.
In addition to the hot air balloon safari, Bijnor has plans to introduce paragliding, further expanding its adventure sports offerings. Currently, each raft can accommodate up to eight people, with plans to increase the number of rafts as tourist demand grows. With these new ventures, Bijnor is poised to become a premier destination for adventure sports in the region.
