Mr. Valijdanov, while addressing the media at SATTE 2024, highlighted the remarkable growth in tourist arrivals from India over the past year. “The statistics speak for themselves – we are delighted to announce that the number of Indian tourists visiting Uzbekistan tripled in 2023 compared to the previous year,” he stated, Uzbekistan recorded 200 per cent growth from India as compared to last year.
Furthermore, the participation of H.E. Sardor Rustambaev in two key SATTE events, including the lamp lighting ceremony during the SATTE inauguration and his role as a speaker in a panel discussion moderated by Mr. Noor Ahmed Hamid, CEO, PATA, not only reinforced Uzbekistan’s commitment to fostering cultural ties but also contributed to the broader dialogue on the future of international tourism.
This outstanding achievement reflects the growing interest of Indian travelers in exploring the rich cultural heritage, historical landmarks, and picturesque landscapes that Uzbekistan has to offer.
The participation of the delegations, featuring high-ranking officials from the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan including H.E. Mr. Sardor Rustambaev, Mr. Ikboljon O. Soliev, Counsellor and Mr. Sadriddin Suyarov Press-Attache- First Secretary in India along with four distinguished members from the Uzbekistan Tourism Committee including Mr. Ahror Valijdanov, Mr. Inomjon Madrimov, Mr. Umarbek Esanmuradov and Mr. Nuriddin Hasanov aimed to forge partnerships with Indian travel trade stakeholders.
In addition, 5 notable Destination Management Companies (DMCs) from Uzbekistan actively participated in SATTE 2024, contributing to the collaborative efforts to promote tourism between the two nations. These DMCs, such as UZINTA (Uzbek-India Tourism Association), Blessed Travel, Enjoy Travel, TITF Team & Co, and Travel Together, played a crucial role in presenting the diverse offerings of Uzbekistan to the Indian travel trade.
As Uzbekistan continues to emerge as a top destination for Indian tourists, both countries look forward to deepening their tourism cooperation and creating enduring connections between the people of Uzbekistan and India.
