The Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh Chapter of the Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) celebrated its 20th Foundation Day with great enthusiasm and participation at the luxurious Golden Yug Resort & Spa, Indore. The event witnessed the presence of key stakeholders from the travel, tourism, and aviation industries, along with senior government officials.
TAAI National, established in 1951, is the oldest, largest, nodal, and premier travel trade association of India. The association will be completing its 75th year in 2026, marking a significant milestone in its journey of serving the Indian travel and tourism industry for over seven decades.
The event was led by Chapter Chairman Hemendra Singh Jadon and was attended by A. Gopal, Assistant Director, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, Ajay Shrivastava, Regional Manager, Madhya Pradesh Tourism, senior representatives from Air India, IndiGo, Thai Airways, and Disney Cruise India and esteemed travel trade partners and TAAI members from across the region.
In his keynote address, Jadon stressed the urgent need for improved flight connectivity from Indore to support the growing tourism and business demands of the region. On behalf of the association, he proposed the launch of direct flights to Amritsar, Cochin, Bagdogra, and Srinagar plus to international destinations such as Dubai and Bangkok.
He announced that formal proposals would soon be sent to the Ministry of Civil Aviation and various airlines urging them to consider starting these routes on an immediate basis.
MP, Indore & Surrounding Region: High Tourism & Film Potential
Jadon highlighted that Madhya Pradesh, including Indore and its surrounding regions, holds tremendous tourism potential due to its rich cultural heritage, natural beauty, historical sites, and spiritual destinations. He also mentioned that the region is increasingly being favored by filmmakers, further boosting its visibility and tourism prospects.
Jadon also issued an important public advisory urging all travellers to book only through authorized and recognized travel agents to ensure safe, hassle-free, and fraud-free experiences. He emphasized that TAAI members follow professional standards and ethical business practices.
Secretary Amit Navlani and Treasurer C. K. Raj also addressed the gathering, reflecting on the chapter’s 20-year journey and reaffirming their commitment to service, integrity, and progress. Adding a special charm to the evening, the celebration featured vibrant cultural performances, including music and traditional dance, showcasing the rich cultural diversity of the region and leaving the audience thoroughly entertained.

As TAAI National prepares to celebrate its 75th anniversary in 2026, the organization continues to play a pivotal role in advocating for the travel industry, improving infrastructure, and facilitating meaningful dialogues between the private sector and government.
The event concluded with a networking dinner, cultural exchange, and renewed enthusiasm among the travel fraternity to work together for the promotion of tourism in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
