Switzerland Tourism brought together prominent members of the travel trade for an exclusive Networking Apéro in Mumbai. The evening commenced with an address from Christian Schoch, Director India, Switzerland Tourism. In his speech, he highlighted that India is among the top ten key source markets for Switzerland and expressed his gratitude to the Indian travel trade partners for their unwavering support. Adding excitement to the evening was a lucky draw in which the winner won two business-class tickets to Zurich. The celebration continued with a sumptuous dinner and networking. The occasion was graced by Devika Abraham, Country Manager India, GCC & Sri Lanka, Zermat Bergbahnen AG, Rayomand Choksi, Sales Director India, South Asia, GCC and Zaal Choksi, Business Development Manager, India for TITLIS Cableways, along with other Swiss Partners.
Speaking to BOTT in an exclusive chat, Christian Schoch, said, “India remains one of Switzerland’s most consistent and high-value markets. With a steady rise in overnight stays through 2025, India is firmly established as a top-ten market for overnights and sits within the top five for visitor spends. This trend speaks volumes about how much Indian travellers value their time here; we are seeing a deep, sustained connection to the Swiss experience.
While Zurich, Interlaken and Lucerne will always be the heartbeat of a Swiss holiday, we want to show our Indian audience other locations they can also add to their itinerary. Interesting locations such as the vineyard-lined shores of the Lake Geneva Region, the landscapes of Laax, or Lugano, where Swissminiatur bring the whole country to life in one spot. It’s about seeing the Swiss Alps through a fresh lens, perhaps even from the panoramic windows of the Bernina Express.
To bring these stories to life, we are also conducting workshops across 10 Indian cities, with a special focus on Tier 2 and 3 markets, in order to share this vision first-hand with our travel trade partners. Through these workshops, the Switzerland Travel Academy, and our collaboration with Neeraj Chopra, we want to spark a new kind of curiosity. Our ultimate goal is to empower every traveller with the passion to discover Switzerland.”
