Mountain biking

Pedal along roads and climb mountain passes to reach breathtaking panoramic views. Mountain bikers will be delighted by the mountain trails and picturesque views around them. There are a variety of mountain biking itineraries to suit all levels.
Nature Walks
The walk up to the refuge and the overnight stay offer a great opportunity to connect with nature. The Grand Plan Mountain refuge is the perfect place to spend a moment suspended in time. It is not just a trek but a soul stirring union with nature. It can be reached on foot crossing the unspoilt nature of the sublime Avals valley, without a building in sight, on the edge of the Vanoise National Park. For those seeking a simpler retreat, the Lacs Merlet Mountain refuge stands as a beacon of rustic charm. With its humble facade resembling a classic alpine hut, it shelters adventurers in its cozy confines. Spending a night here will guarantee you a relaxing change of scenery rediscovering the true meaning of life.
Via Ferrata
Take your adventure to new heights with a Via Ferrata experience. Thrill-seekers will love this exposed Via Ferrata trail at an elevation of around 3000 metres. The Croix des Verdons Via Ferrata requires stamina and nerves of steel, as the route is high and quite exposed but offers breathtaking views. The ascent covers a 225-metre accumulated elevation gain in a 3-hour climb, to finally arrive at an altitude of 2,738 metres. It offers an impressive view of the highest peaks of the Vanoise and the Mont Blanc range.
Via Ferrata in the Alps is the ideal mountain activity for experiencing new thrills and excitement or even to improve your skills. Head to the via ferrata at Lac de la Rosière, where travellers get the opportunity to cross a magnificent Nepalese bridge. The most experienced climbers can go to the Croix des Verdons, the highest Via Ferrata in France. For lesser adventure-seekers, Courchevel offers Via Cordata, an activity halfway between Via Ferrata and rock climbing in the mountains.
Rock Climbing
The Praméruel rock face is the ideal climbing spot for beginners. At an elevation of 2,000 metre, it offers shade for a pleasantly cool climb even in the height of summer. The site can be reached via a vehicle track and you can park just 200 metres from the foot of the cliff. None of the routes exceed 40 metres on this limestone rock face which helps novices to achieve a sense of security.
Indoor Climbing for kids: Courchevel has adventure activities to entertain the little ones as well. There are indoor climbing facilities at the Aquamotion Centre, a haven for indoor activities for families. The children’s pool, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, diving pool, water slides, climbing wall and adult’s only spa area with whirlpool baths, saunas, hammam, Scottish shower and outdoor pools, make Aquamotion the ultimate place for a family outing that keeps everyone happy. The whole family along with the kids can enjoy their favourite sport between the fifty climbing routes on the 11-metre wall and another thirty or so on a boulder. The ideal place for the whole family to try this activity.
The Summer season will last until the end of September, ensuring plenty of time for visitors to enjoy Courchevel’s thrilling quests and picturesque views.
