Nestled within a 25-hectare natural park overlooking the Alps and Lake Lugano, the five-star resort is located just minutes from Lugano and offers an immersive retreat defined by tranquillity, nature, and refined hospitality. The partnership has been formalised through a commercial agreement and came into effect on November 22, 2025.
Commenting on the expansion, Elisabetta Fabri, President and CEO of Starhotels, said that the collaboration represents a significant milestone for the group. She noted that entering the Swiss market enhances Starhotels’ expertise in high-end hospitality while reinforcing its role as a trusted partner for iconic properties seeking international growth.
Collina d’Oro Resort & SPA features 44 rooms, including 28 suites, designed with understated elegance and abundant natural light. The resort also houses a 1,000-square-metre spa, a fully equipped fitness area, and a restaurant offering contemporary Mediterranean cuisine. The destination is historically significant, having inspired Nobel Prize-winning author Hermann Hesse, who spent his final years in the region.
Marcello Forti, CEO of H-Food and HCH SA, which manages the resort, highlighted the shared values between the two brands, including attention to detail, respect for tradition, and a strong focus on innovation and guest experience. He expressed confidence that the partnership would further elevate the resort’s international appeal while preserving its distinctive character.
Under the agreement, Starhotels will support Collina d’Oro Resort & SPA across sales, marketing, communication, revenue management, and distribution, including integration with the group’s booking systems and the I AM STAR loyalty programme. The resort will continue to operate autonomously while fully aligning with Starhotels Collezione brand standards.
With this addition, Starhotels Collezione further enriches its global portfolio of iconic luxury properties dedicated to wellness, nature, and the art of fine living.
