As part of StarCruises’ ongoing efforts to enrich destination-focused experiences, guests will have the opportunity to savour locally sourced durians at key destinations, including Medan and Kuala Lumpur (Port Klang). These thoughtfully curated tastings allow guests to enjoy the famed ‘King of Fruits’ conveniently on the ship, while at port in the respective destinations.
“Durian is more than just a fruit in this region — it is part of the local culture and identity,” said Michael Goh, President, StarDream Cruises. “By bringing curated durian experiences on the ship and directly from the port of each destination, we are giving our guests an authentic taste of Medan and Malaysia in a convenient and memorable way, further enhancing the overall cruise journey onboard Star Voyager.”

Complimentary Durian Tasting in Medan
For 3 Night Cruises departing from either Singapore or Kuala Lumpur (via Port Klang) with Medan as a port of call, guests will be treated to a complimentary local durian tasting experience on the ship while at port in Medan. Participation is subject to advance onboard registration and ticket collection, with limited slots available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Durian Feast in Port Klang
Guests departing from Singapore on 18 and 25 January, as well as 1 February, on the 4 Night Kuala Lumpur (via Port Klang) – Phuket Cruise can also look forward to a Durian Feast on the ship while at Port Klang, priced at SGD30 per guest. The durian tasting experience features premium varieties, offering a delightful selection of local favourites. The programme is complemented by the chance to savour Klang’s famous Bak Kut Teh, followed by transfers to AEON Mall for shopping.
This unique add-on offers guests a deeper taste of Malaysia and Indonesia’s culinary heritage, while maximising their time ashore.
