In a recently organised event by Sri Lanka Tourism Board and OTOAI at Sri Lanka High Commission, the entire focus was on to highlight the promising Ramayana Trail. The sector has a huge potential and a lot of tourists are attracted because of this towards the ‘Scintillating Sri Lanka’.
Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner to India Austin Fernando requested the members to promote Sri Lanka and the Ramayana Trail in India as it has a huge outbound market. This in turn will create a win win situation for the both the people and the country. The major highlight of the workshop was to gear up and boost cultural and spiritual tourism in Sri Lanka through the Rich Ramayana Heritage Sites.
Illuminating the audience, Mahendra Vakharia, President, OTOAI, emphasised upon Sri Lanka as an extraordinary tourist destination. And, that Sri Lanka has a lot of significance with regard to the Ramayana Trail thereby making it a tourism package for the Indian travellers. He further requested the members to do a thorough study on Sri Lanka and to understand the product in detail.
