The programme was presided over by Shri Sheo Shekhar Shukla, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Culture, Religious Trusts & Endowments, and General Administration Department.
The ceremony commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp, followed by the oath-taking ceremony of the newly constituted executive committee. Shri Mahendra Pratap Singh formally assumed office as the first President of SKAL International Bhopal.
Addressing the gathering, Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Rajendra Shukla congratulated SKAL International on its establishment in Madhya Pradesh and described it as a significant milestone for the state’s tourism sector. He said that Madhya Pradesh is a state endowed with immense tourism potential and has carved a distinct identity in India’s tourism landscape. The expansion of tourism creates new employment opportunities while contributing to the state’s economic growth. He expressed confidence that SKAL International’s global network and expertise would further strengthen Madhya Pradesh’s tourism on the international stage.
Presiding over the event, Shri Sheo Shekhar Shukla, Additional Chief Secretary, said that the arrival of SKAL International in Madhya Pradesh marks a new beginning for the state’s tourism sector. It will provide greater international visibility to Madhya Pradesh’s diverse tourism offerings. He added that under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, the Government of Madhya Pradesh is pursuing a visionary approach towards the holistic development of tourism, and global organisations such as SKAL International will serve as valuable partners in this journey.
Dr. Ilayaraja T., Secretary to the Chief Minister, Tourism Department, and Managing Director, Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board, said that the establishment of SKAL International in Madhya Pradesh is an important step towards positioning the state more prominently on the global tourism map. It will accelerate tourism development while creating new opportunities for international tourism investment and collaboration.
